ya know, after basically 4 seasons worth of episodes (24 in S1, 12 in S2P1, 12 in S2P2) 5 OVAs, 3 special recap episodes, and the 12 ep here in 'Slime Diaries'... i think this is the first ever episode with a piece specifically illustrating Rimuru's intrinsic slime species ability to never need sleep.

could you imagine yourself, a 37-year-old human, suddenly moved into a body that doesn't need sleep? for hours upon hours you would have spent during everyday unconscious... Rimuru has to stay awake because he cannot sleep.
